Safra Project- Events 2006

Safra & Imaan at EuroPride 2006. 1st July 2006

Birmingham & London Safra social groups attended Euro Pride 2006 hosted in London.
In unity with our sisters and brothers at Imaan we joined their float and side-by-side our banners hung together through the streets of London.

The float was also joined with members of the KISS group plus other supporters and chants of support were heard from the Black lesbians UK group's float for Imaan and Safra. A real atmosphere of unity particularly from the black, ethnic minority groups and from long-standing anti-racist individuals and groups like Crossroads Women's Centre of Kentish Town and the UK lesbian & gay Immigration group.

Sphere:dreamz has been created by South Asian lesbian, bisexual and transgendered participants working with multi-media artist Shanaz Gulzar , writer Maya Chowdhry and co-creator Jaheda Choudhury.

Safra London social group 1st birthday. 28th January 2006.

-Safra London social group 1st birthday.
Saturday 28th January 2006 was the first anniversary of the Safra social group in London. It was great to have new members there after one year and those who were there from the beginning. We had lunch together and huge portions of layered cake prepared by First Out's chefs especially for the occasion, they even managed to put the Safra logo onto the cake!
