Feminist Sexual Ethics Project

A website providing information on issues of gender, religion, sexuality, and slavery. On the site you will find essays, a multitude of links and resources, and information of interest to a wide audience, from the general public to scholars conducting research. On the Islam section of the website, you will find resources addressing issues of sexual ethics and gender relations in Muslim communities and Islamic texts. The site covers topics such as marriage contracts, divorce, veiling, same-sex sexual behavior and lesbian identity, “obedience,” honor killings, and others. For each topic, They bring together specific religious texts (verses of the Qur’an andselections from hadith); references to other sources, such as legal and exegetical writings; and interpretive commentary that serve as an introduction to the diversity of opinions on these subjects. They devote particular attention to progressive views.
